Pedro Vara
Executive Board
Pedro Vara has a degree in Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Analysis from the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG) and is a CFA European Chartered Financial Analyst.
He has extensive experience in finance, having started his professional career in auditing at BDO. As part of the Finance department, he began his career in the Engineering and Construction and Real Estate Funds sectors at Teixeira Duarte.
With international experience, between 2010 and 2021 he worked in the Algerian market as Finance Director for companies such as Pinto & Bentes, S.A. and Grupo Metalogalva.
Between 2021 and 2024, he was Chief Risk Officer, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee at CBE - Engenharia e Telecomunicações, SA, for the Portuguese and Irish markets.
In April 2024, he took on the role of CFO, joining the Boards of Directors of SGPS and FCM – Construções, S.A., as well as the Executive Committee, with responsibility for the Financial area.
Francisco Pacheco
Executive Board
Francisco Pacheco has a degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and a Master`s in Construction Management from South Bank University in London.
With over 35 years` professional experience in the sector and on 4 continents, he has worked with leading national and international companies, holding positions of high responsibility, leading multicultural and multidisciplinary teams in the realisation of various projects for major clients.
His career in the international area began at Soares da Costa, after which he joined Mota-Engil and later in several companies with responsibilities in the national and international markets from America to Asia, including Europe and Africa.
He has significant experience in different projects, such as public and private buildings, motorways, railways and water infrastructures, in various parts of the world.
In September 2024, he took on the role of CCO at the FCM Group, joining the Board of Directors of FCM Construções, S.A. and SGPS, and serving on the Executive Committee, with responsibility for the comercial area.
António Mendes
Executive Board
António Ribeiro Mendes holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra.
With over 40 years of consolidated experience, he began his career in the construction sector in 1983, developing his professional path across various areas of engineering. He is particularly noted for his work between 1991 and 2022 at Ramalho Rosa Cobetar, S.A. (FCC Construcción Group, S.A.).
Always driven by operational excellence, technological innovation, and the integration of multidisciplinary teams, he has played a significant role in all stages of projects, especially in execution, but also, to a lesser extent, in design and operation. His focus has primarily been on the execution of large-scale and complex construction projects, particularly in the field of infrastructure and public works.
He has held positions in technical management and project execution, as well as in the coordination and management of production and business areas, including partnerships between companies in consortia or Complementary Business Groupings (ACE). For more than a decade, he also served as an executive in companies and ACEs in Portugal, affiliated with FCC.
In April 2025, he enters FCM Group, joining the Boards of Directors of SGPS and FCM – Construções, S.A., as well as the Executive Committee, with responsibility for Production as COO (Chief Operating Manager), and the management of ICD – Instalações Especiais, Lda.
