The scope of this rehabilitation work had two main objectives:

- Rehabilitation and reinforcement of the existing pier to correct the problems identified, allowing the extension of its useful life;

- Modernization of the pier equipment (insertion of pier fenders, access ladders, etc.), giving priority to the standardization with the new pier, located downstream and adjacent to the pier, object of this work.

This very technical work of rehabilitation of structural concrete included: shot-peened/removal of concrete, pickling grade Sa 2.5, reinforcement, anti-corrosion protection of reinforcement, shotcrete, structural protection with a corrosion inhibitor, resin injection, platform paving and preparation of the pier. Also included the placement of pier fenders, for cruise ships.

The work was carried out in accordance with the tide, and great flexibility of production schedules was required throughout the days.
